In a fresh educational progressive in the city a young teacher Eijaz Manzoor Alam has created history by winning Solapur University senate Election.An open category candidate Eijaz has emerged as first Muslim who won this election in the 50 year history of Shivaji and Solapur Universities.He bagged 568 votes.
Earlier ,all the institutes of Solapur Dist.had been affiliated under Shivaji University,Kolhapur.In 2012 Solapur has got its own its own Solapur University.
Eijaz Alam is working as a High school teacher since last 17 years.He is very active in various teachers organisations and know as a nearest and dearest activist of Pune Division Teachers’ MLC Dattatraya Sawant.
It is highly appreciable that A group of Youths headed by Intekhab was working very hard to enrol Muslim graduates to the university voter list.After continuos efforts of one and half years. They have managed to enrol more than 700 hundred Muslim names.
Speaking with this newsportal Eijaz thanked his supporters Bhima Shaker,Sardar Nadaf,Mahmood Nawaz,Sayed Wasim Akram,Asif Iqbal ,Abid Jamal and other friends all the voters for their selfless and wholehearted support.
He says that not only Muslim but other community voters have also supported him well.
He further said that first of all I will collect all the relevent information of the University ‘s functions and study again the powers and responsibilities of the senators.Students problems will be my top priority , added a senator.
Teachers from city schools Rangrez Abid Jamal and Mahmmod warmly welcomed this this progress of educational sector. .They extended their best wishes to Eijaz and hope that he will give his best.
