A great success to JMI’s Hindi department, 23 students from TV journalism course got placement in media channels

A great success to Jamia Millia Islamia’s Hindi department, as 23 students of PG Diploma in TV journalism course have been selected in various media channels.
According to the data released by the Hindi Department of this academic session that it’s 23 students have made a cut for the various types of jobs in the popular TV channels. it is, no doubt, one of the biggest successes of the department. Course coordinator, Dr. Asif Umar, stated that this year’s placement is high in number than in previous years. And behind this stupendous result, proper guidance and help of the students with up to date teaching materials made their work easy. Some best names in TV journalism taught the students throughout the year who shared their best mantras of becoming a good journalist. And students also learned a lot from doing practical which used to assigned to them at regular intervals.
This time, the big news channels like Zee News, India TV, WORLD TV 9,  ETV India and other channels opened their doors for the successful candidates of Jamia. The department feels honoured and grateful to them.
This course has been running for two decades and its students are giving their best contribution to the different channels quite successfully. The coordinator informed that the selection of various students has been made by sending them to the respective channels purely on their merits. Apart from this, various students have also been selected through campus placement to many other media houses of repute. Dr umar said that the credit of this success goes completely to the vice chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar, Dean Prof. Wahajuddin Alvi, and the Head of the department, Professor Indu Virendra, who helped the students on every step and provided all administrative support to the department.
Head of the Department, Prof. Indu Virendra, said while congratulating the department’s media course coordinator, Dr Asif Umar and the students that it is the biggest achievement of the department, and that it is really good to hear that students are earning their livelihood through their hard work and efforts and climbing the stairs of success. This success could be possible only because of the efforts of Dr. Asif Umar, who has the responsibility to run this course.
She also said that “I hope that our students will prove true to the various criteria of Journalism and they will discharge their duties as a mission to set examples for other students of the department”.
