Preparation for MMERC Silver Jubilee and the 3-Day International Seminar is in full swing

A Special meeting was conducted by the organizing committee in Delhi

To discuss about the preparation of a 3-Day International Seminar on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebration of Markazul Ma’arif Education and Research Centre (MMERC), a meeting was held on Thursday evening, 18 July 2019, in MMERC’s Delhi office.

 

Dr. Mufti Obaidullah Qasmi, Assistant Prof. Dr Zakir Hussain College of Delhi University, detailed about the purpose of the International Seminar during MMERC’s Silver Jubilee. He said, “Ulama and madrasa graduates have been accused that they are bounded with their certain subjects and particular languages. They are unaware of the new challenges of contemporary world and don’t know the international language. This is why their services are very limited.”

 

“This accusation has been over now to some extent since MMERC has equipped many ulama with English language, modern skills, computer and communication technology who are successfully working in this modern world. So it is an opportunity to trace the history of the MMERC and show the people that ulama are playing their role in the contemporary era with regards to the global demands”, he said.

 

He added, “Keeping the importance of the issues aforesaid in view, the leading lights of MMERC and its alumni group from across the world have decided to celebrate their Silver Jubilee by organizing a 3-Day International Seminar on “Ulama, Muslim Youth and Contemporary Challenges: With Special Reference to DELL Course and Post Madrasa Education”. The meeting today is to discuss and decide how to conduct it better with all MMERC Alumni participation, Dr. Obaidullah explained further.

 

The meeting was presided over by Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi, Director of MMERC and one of the conveners of Silver Jubilee program. Explaining the details Maulana said, ‘the first two days’ program (4th and 5th October) of this Seminar will be at Madni Hall, Jamiat Ulama-e- Hind, New Delhi, while the third day’s program (6th October) will be held in the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.’

 

He further said, “We are inviting distinguished ulama, senior political leaders, central ministers, vice chancellors of several universities, ambassadors from different countries, educationists, government officials, journalists and many other dignitaries and prominent guests to the seminar. We got confirmation from some dignitaries while some others are expected to give positive response. Apart from this, alumni of MMERC, DELL graduates from other madaris and scholars from India and abroad will represent their research prepares in the Seminar.”

 

Notably, the 3-Day International Seminar will be under the patron-ship of Lok Sabha MP, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Al-Qasmi who is the founder of MMERC. Maulana Mohammad Burhanuddin Qasmi and Mr. Mohammad Umar Gautam, Chairman of Islamic Dawah Centre (IDC) are conveners of the program while an Organizing Committee comprising of 12 members is selected along with10 subcommittees for preparation and smooth functioning of the upcoming program. ‘All subcommittees like Souvenir Committee, Finance Committee, Reception Committee, Food and Hospitality Committee; and Media and PR Committee have already begun working in their respective areas’, Maulana MB Qasmi informed.

The meeting was attended by Delhi based MMERC alumni and other DELL graduates. Dr. Sayeed Anwar Qasmi, Dr. Abdul Malik Qasmi, Dr. Qamruddin Qasmi, Maulana Azimullah Siddiqui, Maul. Sikandar Azam Qasmi, Maul. Hifzur Rahman Qasmi, Mufti Javed Iqbal Qasmi, Maul. Usama Zakir Qasmi, Mufti Yahya Qasmi, Maul. Abulkhair Qasmi, Maul. Faisal Nazir Qasmi, Qazi Jahangeer Alam Qasmi, Maul. Saud Alam Qasmi, Mufti Ajaz Zafar Qasmi, Mual. Obaidul Kabir Qasmi, Mufti Shams Tabrez Qasmi, Maul. Umair Akhtar Qasmi and Maul. Shahnawaz Nazmi Qasmi were among prominent participants in the meeting.
