Renowned Jurist Maulana Zubair Ahmad Qasmi passed away,last rite after Asr

Renowned jurist and scholar Maulana Zubair Ahmad Qasmi (82) passed away today morning at 9:30 am in his native village Chandr Sen Pur, Madhubani Bihar. His last rite will be observed today after Asr prayer and he will be laid to rest at the same place.

Maulana Zubair Ahmad Qasmi was a renowned jurist and celebrated scholar. He was working as the rector of the famous seminary of Bihar Jamia Arabia Ashraful Uloom Kanhwan, Sitamarhi, Bihar. He was also the founding member of Islamic Fiqh Academy, India. He has also taught Sahih Bukhari (the most authentic collection of hadith) in Darul Uloom Sabilus Salam of Hyederabad. Few years ago, he was also appointed as the rector of Basharatul Uloom Madhubani.
Maulana Qasmi was born in 1937. After receiving the elementary education in local madrasa, he joined Darul Uloom Deoband where he completed his Almiyat course.

He was a close student of Maulana Fakhruddin Muradabadi. Apart from being a perfect teacher and hadith scholar, he was also an erudite jurist. He had deep relationship with late Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi. Qazi sahib gave paramount importance to his juristic opinion. He therefore came to be kown as the Faqih-e-Millat (the jurist of the Muslim community).
He played unforgettable role in elevating the education standard of Ashraful Uloom Kanhwan and bringing all around development to it. he is survived by five sons and two daughters, among them Maulana Owais Siddiqui and Maulana Zafar Siddiqui hold much esteem in their circles.
