All India Reporters Associations  welcomes “Journalist Protection Law”

In a recent development  A leading Association of journalists of “All India Reporters Association has welcomed Maharashtra Govt’s step of passing Journalist protection Law.

Nasir Shikalgar General Secretary of AIRA has written a thanking letter to Chief Mininster Devendra Phadnavis . He mentioned that we are very Much thankful to you for keeping your word and by passing the law in both the houses of the state.

Nasir informed Millattimes.com that we AIRA and other Associations  were continuously following up since years . We  met Chief Minster and other ministers several times to hand over our demands of providing legal protection.

It is very satisfaying that the Govt.has took notice our pains and follow up and cleared the bill. ,added Nasir.

It is indeed notable that there were so many journalists have been assaulted  while discharging their duties and properties of the media houses also damaged by anti social elements.

Now, As per this newly passed Law if any body assaults on duty Journalist or damage media property . The offence will be non bailable  ,culprit will be booked and  could be fined upto fifty thousand or sent to jail for upto three years.

State AIRA President  Salauddin Shaikh said , It is really a win of journalist brothers and sisters . Media is important pillar of democracy , to work with liberty and independently we need protection. Now we got this safety cover.

He further thanked  CM Devendra Phadbnavis , National president of AIRA M. Tariq Zaki ,  Vishal Mane (Parbhani), Dilip Mane (Parbhani) ,  Ashok Gupta   and other members of the said  NGO.
