MT News Network: New Delhi||Dr SQR Ilyas national president of Welfare Party of India said, On the call of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s ‘Dharm Sabha’ Lakhs of karsevaks & workers from RSS, VHP, Shivsena and supporters from other Hindu right wing groups are marching into Ayodhya and Faizabad to show strength and pressurise the BJP government just ahead of Lok Sabha elections to build Ram Mandir shouting slogans of Mandir jaldi Banayenge’ thereby creating a very tense atmosphere and fear psychosis amongst Muslim citizens residing there, he demanded protection of their lives and properties.
He reminded that in 1992 when Babri Masjid was demolished a similar situation prevailed with Lakhs of karsevaks going berserk and destroying lives and properties of thousands of Muslims as there was a complete breakdown of state’s law and order machinery,he demanded that such a bloody history should not be repeated and said that the Army should be called immediately to ensure peace and internal security.
Dr Ilyas, pointed out that the matter of mandir/masjid issue is subjudiced and the status quo of the disputed site has to be maintained at all cost.
He further sought the immediate intervention of the H’onble Supreme Court to take Suo moto cognizance of the situation there.
