Goa-Phoenix Socio Culrural Asso. Organises blood donation camp

Phoenix Socio Cultural Association in collaboration with Dr Ashok Amshekar had organized its 35th Annual Blood Donation camp to commemorate 56th year of Goa Liberation day at Valpoi.
The camp registered 64 donors, in which many youth came forward and voluntary donated blood. Earlier, PSCA released their calendar tittle-‘Synergy 2018’ at the hands of Valpoi Municipal Council, Chairperson, Parvin Shaikh in presence of vice-Chairperson, Sayyad Sarfaraz, councillors, Akhtar Shah, Ramdas Shirodkar, Dr Amshekar and former vice-Chairperson, Faisal Shaikh.
Speaking at the formal function, VMC Chairperson,Parvin Shaikh congratulated the entire team of Phoenix for organising blood donation camp which not only help people from Valpoi but also from all over Goa. “I am very much mesmerized with the work this NGO is doing. They all have innovative ideas which directly or indirectly help society in whole” she noted. She further told that organising blood donation on 19th December is befitting tribute.
Many well-known faces including councillors, former councillors and few others paid their visit to the camp and congratulated Dr Amshekar on his birthday. Dr Amshekar thanked the blood bank official’s from GMC for conducting the camp. Meanwhile, PSCA on the same day felicitated group ‘Gandhiji’s Dream’ which is actively initiating cleanliness drives in Valpoi. Secretary, Roshan Chari thanked PSCA and said that what Phoenix and Dr. Amshekar is doing today is an active way of helping people in need. I am humbled and grateful to see that so many people have come forward to pledge their support to this life-saving cause”.
Members present were, PSCA vice President, Samir Shaik, Jt secretary, Hanzala Khan, President of Phoenix Women’s Wing SHG, Shuneza Khan, Vishnu, Rajenoor Shaikh, Imran Shaikh, Mithun Martin, Narhari Shirodkar, Shabana Sarkawas, Phoenix Students Wing President, Majida Aga, Yasin, Imam Shah and others.
Goa today celebrated its 56th Liberation Day with great pomp and joy.
The state was liberated on 19th December in 1961 from Portuguese control after almost 450 years of colonial rule. Soon after the liberation Goa’s first chief minister, Bahusahed Bandodkar give stress on education. He was the pioneer in building primary schools in all villages to educate Goan.
 Various cultural programmes were held after flag hoisting in each talukas to celebrate liberation day. In Valpoi too school and NGO celebrated liberation day. Like every year Phoenix Socio Cultural Association organised blood donation at Valpoi.
 Speaking to the President of PSCA, Abdulla Khan it was learned that this was their 10th blood donation camp. “Donating blood is great work. Its save life of needy patients. Since last many years we contributing to this cause. Many young donors irrespective of religions or caste came to donate blood. We feel blessed to take up this project”
Meanwhile, Doctor Amshekar said that since last 35 years is doing this project and last one decade Phoenix team were associated with him. “Rakt Daan ye sabse bada Daan hai aur Valpoi ka har ek donor khushi se blood donate karta hai”.
