Pinching  India’s  pride,
Lynching India’s  conscience,
Many clamoured for a change,
But willing not to exchange.

The idea of change unknown,
Limited to dispense the existing,
New ideas never flowed,
Old wisdom cut from the roots.

Pricking and pinching of consciousness disappeared,
The conscience  stopped pinching,
The human  heart  stopped pricking,
The  rational mind stopped critical thinking,
Hate, prejudice ,bias, propaganda together, watered  the poisonous seeds.

As the  pinching stopped,
Lynching continued unrestricted,
Bitter fruits of  hateful seeds flowered,
The silence of the tongue,
The  co-operation and association in lynching,
Is no longer pinching.

The change many wanted has arrived,
Filled with the  blood of the innocent,
Fuelled by the minds of the hateful,
The change many wanted has arrived.

India’s conscience lynched,
India’s soul murdered,
Were these the changes desired?
Are these the  promised good days ?
