The death toll from floods in Assam has risen to 100 after two more people died in the past 24 hours, the state disaster management authority said on Sunday.
Nearly 1.4 lakh people have been affected by flooding across 10 districts, including Golaghat, Sivasagar, Hojai, Darrang, Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Charaideo, Nagaon and Biswanath, according to ThePrint.

Golaghat is the worst affected district, with about 70,000 people impacted. Sivasagar has reported nearly 40,000 affected people, while more than 16,000 have been affected in Jorhat.
The Dhansiri river at Golaghat and Numaligarh, and the Kushiyara river at Sribhumi, are flowing above their danger levels, according to the state disaster management authority.
“Due to a steady rise in the water level of Dhansiri in Golaghat district, people have been advised to stay away from the river,” PTI quoted an unidentified disaster management authority official as saying.
About 49,100 people are currently staying in 125 relief camps and relief distribution centres across six districts, PTI reported.
