Delhi Police personnel entered an aircraft carrying Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke after it landed at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi on Saturday, according to a post shared by the party on its official X handle.
According to the CJP’s post, police personnel approached Dipke inside the aircraft shortly after its arrival. The incident comes ahead of the party’s proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
During the interaction, Dipke reportedly told the police personnel, “I have come here to be arrested; arrest me.”
The police personnel responded, “No, this is not an arrest. Please cooperate,” according to the account shared by the party on social media.
The CJP’s post brings attention to the police action surrounding its planned demonstration. However, the exact circumstances of the interaction and the purpose of the police personnel’s presence inside the aircraft were not immediately clear.
The development comes amid reports of detentions involving individuals associated with the party ahead of its proposed protest. Dhruv Rathee was reportedly detained in Gurugram, while CJP legal adviser Ratna Singh was reportedly detained in Delhi.
The situation continues to draw attention as preparations for the CJP’s proposed demonstration unfold in the national capital.
