Coronavirus Pandemic In India: Confirmed Cases crossed 1500, Death Toll escalated to 45

The total number of novel coronavirus cases in the world’s second-most populous country, India has risen to 1,590, while the death toll mounted to 45, with the fast-spreading virus in various parts of the country, according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active COVID-19 cases reached over 1,238, while 99 people were either cured or discharged and one had migrated, the ministry stated. Over 8,00,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus across the globe, with global death toll rising to 42,000.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), one of the oldest and largest medical research bodies in the world, has so far maintained that India is currently facing local transmission. Infectious disease experts at ICMR said that there are four states of the disease. Stage one is getting imported cases, stage 2 is local transmission, stage three is community transmission and stage 4 is, when it turns into an epidemic.
