Fresh concerns have emerged over Madina Mosque in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, following reports of renewed demolition activity on Sunday, October 19, 2026. AIMIM Delhi Pradesh president Dr. Shoaib Jamai alleged that police personnel arrived at around 3 am to demolish the mosque’s ground floor, months after the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demolished part of the structure in September.

In a post on X, Jamai described the reported development as urgent and appealed to residents living nearby to help protect the mosque. He said that he was outside Delhi at the time but was returning to the city. He also urged people to share the video documenting the reported incident.

The latest concerns follow a demolition drive carried out by the MCD during the night of September 22–23, 2026, along Max Hospital Road in Shalimar Bagh. Parts of Madina Mosque and adjoining structures were demolished as part of a road-widening project. Civic authorities cited encroachment on the designated road alignment as the reason for the action.

The September operation took place amid a heavy police deployment and drew criticism from Jamai and others opposing the demolition. Jamai alleged that the mosque’s imam had not been given adequate time to remove religious materials, including copies of the Quran, before the demolition work began. These claims should be distinguished from the civic authorities’ stated justification for the drive.

The mosque’s management and community representatives have also raised concerns about the notices issued before the demolition and the time available to respond. The procedural and legal aspects of the action require assessment against the relevant official records and any applicable court proceedings.

As of October 19, the earlier demolition at Madina Mosque has been reported by multiple news outlets, while AIMIM Delhi president Dr. Shoaib Jamai also shared details of the latest reported demolition attempt on his X account.
