Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Announces Additional 1 Lakh Food Packs For Needy Amid Lockdown 3 and Ramadan

Ajmal CSR Continuous Emergency Relief Work

The entire world is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the growing Covid-19 pandemic and constant lockdowns aimed at curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus. India too is passing through a tough time and economic crisis. The plight of Indian people particularly daily wage workers, migrant labourers, street vendors, farmers, poor and needy ones all over the country rampantly continues and they are crying for bread and means of basic livelihood.

The situation is growing worse for those who are migrant workers who survive on daily wages and do not have enough money to support basic household expenses or travel back to their native places.
In such critical circumstances, various social organizations and NGOs have come forward to provide food to daily wagers, homeless and other people affected by the long-imposed lockdown in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ajmal CSR – the biggest federation of NGOs in Northeast India – with its two main partners, Markazul Ma’arif and Ajmal Foundation, is rendering social services towards the poor and needy people ever since the first lockdown was implemented by Prime Minster Modi in March 2020.

In the past too, both these two premier NGOs under Ajmal CSR always stood with people affected by any calamity or disaster providing them with every possible aid all over the country, especially in the north east region of India. This time again, Ajmal Foundation and Markzul Ma’arif, cutting across all religious and linguistic differences, are reaching out to the people stranded in lockdown with food, masks, sanitizers and other essential or precautionary goods needed in the corona pandemic.

The CEO of Ajmal CSR and Lok Sabha MP, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal said in a press note that the bigger problem is of those migrant workers who got stuck due to lockdown. Therefore our priority is to focus on supporting migrants along with helping local poor and needy people. “We have so far distributed more than 75 thousand food packs, each containing ration for 15 days for a 5 member family, and we are preparing for additional one lakh to be distributed amid this Lockdown – 3 within this blessed month of Ramadhanul Mubarak – InShaAllah,” Maulana Ajmal said.

Maulana Ajmal further said that local officials are cooperating and helping Ajmal CSR NGOs in reaching out migrant workers. “However, our NGOs and volunteers in the field need further assistance and continued Government – NPO partnership,” he said.

The joint CEO of Ajmal CSR, Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal, former Member of Parliament said that since the holy month of Ramdhan has started, we are working on two fronts. One is to support and help those who are helplessly abandoned amid lockdown in urban areas while the other is to provide Iftar-Sehri kits along with essentials to thousands of poor and needy families in the rural areas.

While thanking the donors and volunteers working in the field amid COVID-19 Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal said, “For this mammoth emergency relief operation on one hand we are getting support from our well-wishers and philanthropists, while on the other hand, Ajmal group of companies is helping us a lot in this plight. So, I thank all the volunteers and contributors, in any form, who are tirelessly rendering services for the sake of humanity and I pray for them – May Allah (swt) give them good rewards – here and hereafter.
