MLA Pradeep Yadav Raises Crucial Issues Related to Minority and Social Welfare in Jharkhand Assembly

Ranchi: In a significant session of the Jharkhand Assembly, Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav highlighted several pressing issues concerning minorities, teachers, weavers, and the underprivileged. He urged the government to take immediate action on these matters.

Key issues raised by MLA Pradeep Yadav:

Referring to the Sachar Committee’s recommendations, Yadav criticized the Jharkhand government for not submitting any proposals under the Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP), now known as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), for the past six financial years. Due to this, central funds have not been allocated. He demanded that the state government take swift action to resolve this.

Out of 4,401 sanctioned posts for Urdu assistant teachers in Jharkhand, 3,712 remain vacant. Yadav urged the government to categorize these posts into primary (classes 1–5) and upper primary (classes 6–8) levels and fill them based on inter-trained pay scales.

Highlighting a High Court directive (Writ Petition 174/2018), Yadav called for the creation of new posts and the immediate start of the recruitment process for teachers in +2 schools across Jharkhand.

Stressing the importance of higher education for minorities, Yadav proposed the establishment of a new university in Jharkhand, named after Sheikh Bhikhari, modeled on Bihar’s Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic-Persian University. He also pressed for the Ranchi University to promptly conduct Aalim and Fazil degree examinations.

To support minority students, Yadav suggested building a 200–500-bed hostel in Ranchi, ensuring better access to education and accommodation.

To uplift the struggling weaver community in Jharkhand, Yadav demanded financial assistance for cooperative societies and free electricity supply for their businesses.

He called on the government to provide land pattas (ownership rights) to landless Muslims in Jharkhand, offering them permanent solutions for housing and livelihood.

Referring to the 2022 Mob Lynching Bill, which was returned by the Governor without approval, Yadav demanded that the government bring an amended proposal to enforce the law as soon as possible.

In a related discussion, Yadav revealed that the MSDP scheme has received no funds from the Central Government for the past five years for the economic and social development of Muslim minorities in Jharkhand. Despite the state’s 16% Muslim population, the lack of financial support has stalled vital projects.

He emphasized the need for the state to push the Center for fund releases and ensure that future projects are properly submitted for approval.

Concluding his speech, Pradeep Yadav strongly urged the government to swiftly address these critical issues concerning minority welfare, teacher recruitment, weaver support, and social justice. He stressed that taking prompt action would help uplift Jharkhand’s marginalized and disadvantaged communities, ensuring they receive the justice and support they deserve.
