Husnen Education and fellowship society and National Council for promotion of Urdu language had conducted one day Seminar on “Urdu Adab ki Taraqqi me khawateen ka Hissa”(Role of women’s in promotion of Urdu literature) on 7th December at Estela hall opp. Miramar beach panjim.
The seminar was inaugurated in presence of Director of Education Vandana Rao, Aquil Ahmed (Director of NCPUL) Dr. Fouziya Rabab, Dr. Afreen Shaikh and Sulaiman Karol.
In her Welcome speech organizer Dr. Afreen welcomed all the invitees, dignitaries and thanked NCPUL for extending financial help for this seminar. She said that we are keen to promote Urdu at all the levels in Goa we just need support from all and govt.bodies
Renowned Literary personality Dr. Tahira Shaikh lauded the Urdu literary contribution of Saleh Abid husain, Ismat Chugtai and Noorul ain. She further highlighted the importance of childhood reading.
Goa based Personality Rukhsana Shah stressed the needs of Urdu libraries in Goa, and the regular availability of Urdu textbooks for Urdu students to promote Urdu a much better way in Goa.
Noted Urdu poetess Dr. Fouziya Rabab(Goa), Dr. Zille Huma and Dr. Sadika Nawab Sahar, Dr. Sharfunnihar also addressed the gathering informed about women’s contributions in Urdu Adab.
The seminar was compared by Fehmida Khan and Sulaiman Karol. It was attended by about 150 Urdu lovers and teachers and students from Goa.
