APCR launches helplines to assist citizens with voter list revision

The Association for Protection of Civil Rights on Sunday announced the launch of dedicated helplines to help citizens across several Indian states navigate the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision process.

The SIR is part of the ECI’s annual voter list revision exercise, aimed at ensuring the accuracy and inclusion of names on electoral rolls. APCR said the initiative seeks to support people, especially from marginalized communities, who often face difficulties in completing the process.

Through the helplines, volunteers will guide citizens on filling out SIR forms, clarifying document requirements, and contacting Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the organization said in a statement.

The helplines will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at +91 99530 92298, +91 95686 12393, and +91 92201 35155. The service currently covers Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and other states where the SIR process is underway.

APCR emphasized that the initiative is purely for public awareness and relies on publicly available information from the ECI. The group said it does not guarantee the inclusion of names in the voter list or fill out forms on behalf of applicants.
